Protect Your Ad Budget

Click Fraud Protection for Google Ads

Is your daily budget burning through in a couple of hours with zero leads?

You check your analytics—clicks are there, but conversions are virtually zero. Chances are, you're facing click fraud: your ads are being clicked not by potential customers, but by bots, competitors, or incentivized clickers. Google's standard invalid click filters only catch a fraction of the problem.

Budget Under Protection

HaltClick is built to stop fraud in its tracks. We assign a risk score to every visit—if the total exceeds 50%, the session is automatically added to your Google Ads exclusion segment.

The Scale of the Problem: What the Numbers Say

Click fraud isn't a myth—it's a well-documented reality. Here are the stats from independent research that every advertiser should know.

14–25%
ClickCease, 2024

Average click fraud rate in Google Ads. In vulnerable niches (legal, cleaning, insurance), it can reach as high as 25%.

20%
CHEQ, 2022

Around 20% of all digital ad spend is lost to fraudulent activity.

$84B
Juniper Research, 2023

Global losses from ad fraud—equivalent to nearly a fifth of all advertising budgets worldwide.

13–18%
Lunio, 2023

Of traffic in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising is generated by bots and unscrupulous competitors.

Simple math: Even with a conservative estimate of 14%, on a monthly budget of $1,000, you're giving away $140 to bots every month. That's $1,680 a year.

Google does attempt to filter invalid clicks, but their automated systems only catch primitive attacks. Modern emulators have learned to mimic real user behavior almost perfectly.

Why Your Google Ads Are Still Vulnerable

Modern click fraud is a high-tech business. Attackers use sophisticated methods to bypass detection.

Headless Browsers

Scripts (Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium) run a full Chromium instance in the background. The bot executes JavaScript, stores cookies, and renders pages—to basic analytics, it looks just like a real person.

Parsers & Scrapers

Programs automatically scrape your pricing and product data while simultaneously clicking your ads in search results—deliberately draining your daily budget.

Click Farms

Real people hired for pennies manually click on competitors' ads. They mimic natural search behavior and site navigation, creating the illusion of genuine traffic.

Compromised Devices (Botnets)

Malicious extensions and viruses hijack thousands of real computers into networks. They generate background parasitic traffic completely unbeknownst to their owners.

The common thread across all these methods—they leave microscopic but measurable traces. That's exactly what our anti-fraud system detects.

HaltClick Anti‑Fraud: A Scoring System That Doesn't Forgive Bots

We use a scoring‑based risk assessment model. Every click on your ad goes through multi‑layer analysis. Suspicious patterns accumulate points. If the score exceeds 50%—the visit is flagged as fraudulent.

1

Browser Fingerprinting

We analyze Canvas, WebGL, fonts, resolution, and language. Bot fingerprints are either stereotypical or show automation artifacts.

2

Behavioral Patterns

Analysis of mouse trajectories, scroll speed, and interaction delays. Bots either don't move the cursor at all or move it in unnaturally straight lines.

3

Technical Anomalies

Timing inconsistencies: instant action execution and absence of natural pauses between clicks and page loads.

4

Automation Signatures

Detection of Puppeteer, Selenium footprints: window object leaks, sensor emulation, missing native APIs.

What happens to a detected bot?

Flagged sessions are instantly sent to a dedicated segment in Google Analytics. This segment is then used as an exclusion audience in your Google Ads account. The system simply stops showing your ads to these «users»—preserving your budget for real people. Fully automated!
